This is an event entry with a date
Mon, 09/16/2013 - 6:00pm
Pat Schroeder was the first woman elected to Congress from Colorado in 1972. Schroeder quickly became an advocate for work-family and women’s issues, making her a key player in the passage of the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993. She also ran for president in 1988. Schroeder will bring her years of experience as a former member of Congress and politician to the Bob Graham Center on Monday, Sept. 16 at 6 p.m. in Pugh Hall. The event and parking are free and open to the public.
Schroeder will discuss multiple topics centered on civic engagement, including offering her views on the current political climate and the importance of an educated and engaged citizenry.
