The Bob Graham Center will host a 54-hour Hackathon focused on creating new tools and platforms for civic engagement. Designers, programmers, and business students from UF will spend the weekend working on bold new ideas and engaging designs for a mobile app geared towards facilitating civil political discourse. Teams will race against time to design, develop, and market their final product.

The event will be held Sept. 27-29 in Pugh Hall and will feature recruiters from local companies, food, music, and more than $4,000 in prizes and give-aways. Most importantly, the event will provide an opportunity for creative students to collaborate on solutions to improve public discourse. The event is being co-sponsored by Teal Ocean and several other Gainesville based start-up firms.
