University of Florida alumni Robert Barnes has been a Washington Post reporter and editor since 1987 and has covered the United States Supreme Court since November 2006.

With its strong 5-4 conservative majority, the court would face questions on controversial policies including immigration, LGBT rights, asylum and citizenship and perhaps even the Affordable Care Act in 2019. From the Kavanaugh hearings to the questionable health of the Notorious RBG, Barnes offered an inside look at the most powerful court in the federal judiciary of the United States. Barnes was joined by Professor Clay Calvert, the Brechner Eminent Scholar of Mass Communication and Director of the Marion B. Brechner First Amendment Project in the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications.
