The City of Gainesville and the Bob Graham Center for Public Service at the University of Florida offer an annual City of Gainesville Local Government Fellowship program. Students work part time (10 to 15 hours a week) during the fall and spring semesters of an entire academic year.
The Bob Graham Center for Public Service and Florida Blue Key at the University of Florida offer the Local Government Internship program each summer. University of Florida Federal Relations Team
This intern is a member of the new Federal Relations team in the University's Washington DC office. The intern assists the Director with identifying, monitoring, and reporting on issues of importance to the University of Florida - tracking legislative activity, attending hearings, drafting hearing reports and legislative updates, attending higher education and coalition meetings, assisting with UF faculty and administrator visits to DC and supporting special projects and events. The intern can observe Congress first-hand and acquire broad exposure to federal policy in the areas of education, research, health, agriculture, and the budget. The Virtual Internship Program (VIP) Bob Graham Center for Public Service at the University of Florida provides an innovative internship experience in the public sector that removes the barriers of the traditional, domestic internship experience, financial or otherwise.
Students participating in this paid internship will work with county Extension faculty to deliver educational programming throughout the state of Florida.
